Everything makes a good story. At Remes Media Ltd we write your story and implement the desired content according to your wishes. Our main focus is on food, travel and history but anything goes. You name it, we write it.
Who I am
I am Mr. Mika Remes, M.A., journalist, writer and jack-of-all-trades media professional. I studied at the University of Jyväskylä majoring in history. After a wide range of studies, I graduated in 1994 and worked as a freelancer for Pieksämäen Lehti and Savon Sanomat newspapers.
After that, I worked for the Finnish Fish Farmers’ Association as a press
officer. I also edited the professional magazine of the association.
The Story
In 1997, a few of my colleagues and I founded a media company called Medita Communication Ltd. My job description covered anything between writing regional news for Finnish News Agency STT to producing science pages for Aamulehti newspaper. In 2004 I started as a CEO and journalist for Comida Communication Ltd which I founded with journalist Mikko Takala. It was a media company that specialized in food and travel. Most of our clients were magazines and corporations.
I also write food books, e.g. I wrote the information section for the book ’Liha’, in English ’Meat’, which was selected as the best meat book in the world by The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. My photos have also been used in several cook books. I take my own photographs and use them in my stories unless the client has other ideas.
In Comida Communication I was in charge of Finnish Fish Farmer and Kala & Kauppa (Fish & Trade) magazines, among other things.
Comida Communication closed down at the end of 2023. I founded Remes Media Ltd at the
beginning of 2024.
What I Do
I live in Finland, but I work globally. I write and photograph and can do graphic design and layout. I have a good network of media professionals to support me. Remes Media Ltd creates various kinds of publications for magazines, books and any other kinds of content according to the customer’s wishes. Anything can be material for a good story. The main focus is on food, drink, restaurants, traveling, and history.
Some of my present clients are magazines such as Kauppalehti Optio, Aromi, Avec, Shaker, Matka, Tiede. Also books: Readme.fi.
